Still Waiting...So Catching Up

Greetings and Happy Spring...practically. It has been so beautiful here in San Antonio the last couple of days!! Since we aren't in China and things at work are settling down a bit, I decided to take a couple of days off. Jay had to obtain a new ID card for his Captain's license and the closest facility is right down the road in Corpus Christie. You may recall an earlier post regarding a recent visit with our friend's from California, the Reckers. Since their son, Matthew, is awaiting flight training at NAS Corpus, we decided to see if he was available for lunch. As luck would have it, he was, and after lunch he took us to one of the best beaches on Padre Island. While it was a little too cool for the sissy parents, Campbell had a great time with the boogie board in the surf!

Watch those Jellies!

Many of you know that we bought some land out in Bandera, TX last year, so we decided that on Friday, we would head out to the property to celebrate our "One Year Anniversary". Jay has been working feverishly to get our storage building built before we transfer to Washington, DC...so here are a few pictures of our mini-celebration.

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Happy Sunday! I was reading this morning and came across this verse in Isaiah 29:23 and it reminded me of how much our family has been blessed: "When they see among them their children, the work of my hands; they will keep my name holy; they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel."
So as I pondered this verse and remembered how impatient I have been with this adoption process, I read on to the next verse (v. 24) which says: "Those who are wayward in spirit will gain understanding; those who complain will accept instruction."
OK, God...I get it...
Have a great day, everyone.
Love,
Kim

Article 5 Update

Our agency confirmed today that our Article 5 was delivered on 1 March. We are now told that we should get our Travel Authorization (TA) in "about 2 weeks"...and that seems to be the standard answer for every question..."You should know in about 2 weeks"...so 3 months later, here we are...stuck in the new I800 world! So, the newest predictions are for us to potentially travel in the first couple of weeks of April...if we don't receive authorization to travel by then, then we won't go until May. As a reminder, we are supposed to transfer to Washington DC in May!
Anyway, we know that God's timing is perfect and we'll get there just in time!
Sorry, no pictures, today. Campbell and Jay will be out with the Cub Scouts on their last Camp Out here in Texas for a while, so maybe some pictures next week! I will be stuck here working on a Naval War College project...Heaven help us if the OT/MSC officer is in charge of the next war!! Have a great weekend, everyone.

Cam's Message to Cael

Dear Cael,
My name is Cam and I will be your new brother. I am excited to go to China and meet you and bring you home with us. Mom and Dad have built our bunk beds...I have the top bunk so you can have the bottom...it's easier to get in and out of that one. I'm learning how to play baseball this week...I'm not too good, yet, but I will show you how to play and we can learn together. We also have a bike ready for you. Mom and Dad like to run everyday and I ride my bike with them. We'll teach you how to ride the red bike so we can all go together.
We say a prayer for you every night for God to make the time go by fast and to keep you safe.
I hope we get there, soon!
Love,
Campbell

Still Waiting...

Hello All...I decided to post to let everyone know that we STILL do not have a Travel Authorization (TA). When we were finally able to get some information from our agency, we found out that our travel will more than likely be pushed back to "the latter part of March". In an effort to be "anxious for nothing", we are working around the house to clean out closets of clothes, shoes, etc. that have not been worn since our last move!
I would like to say thank you to our dear friends Barbara and Dennis for a terrific visit last week! We have not seen them for many years and it was a awesome break from the day to day! The picture above is in honor of their gift of all the Navy gear that we wore to the Texas Bowl in Houston on New Year's Eve (USNA vs Mizzou)...Yeah, Navy Won!!
I would also like to thank our neighbor Carolyn for cleaning out her son's closet, so that we could fill up Cael's!
We promise to keep you posted when we hear anything...keep those prayers coming!!
