Here in San Francisco, we walked up the VERY steep Lombard street to see "the really crooked road" and took some terrific pictures. From the top of the hill is a great view of Coit Tower, Treasure Island, and Alcatraz. We then cruised down the hill and walked around the Fisherman's Wharf and could not pass up the opportunity to eat at the Boudin Sourdough bread factory restaurant for clam chowder and crab bisque in a bread bowl...YUM! Next was a 1 hour cruise on the bay which included a trip under the Golden Gate Bridge and around the island of Alcatraz. Finally, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli Square...Double Yum!...and a hike back up the hill to the hotel. By the end of the evening, we were pretty wiped out...note that Campbell fell asleep where he lay.
So tomorrow we really make our way to China.
Update on Dad: He came home this morning and is feeling pretty sore...but trying to get up and around per doctor's orders. Please keep him in your prayers as he continues to mend.
We'll post more from China...due to land around 3:00pm Beijing-time on Thursday. Until then...good night.
Chilly boat ride heading to the bridge!
