Back Alley Tea Time

With a couple of hours to go until "Gotcha" we calmed our nerves enjoying some tea with some of the local residents of Shaiman Island. We were a little leery at first, but Doug proved to be a wise and enlightening host. We were taught proper Chinese Tea Drinking Protocol, and given a history lesson as well. The libations of the afternoon included a tasting of black tea (non-caffeine) and green tea (caffeine). I explained to Doug that I drink coffee regularly and enjoy a cup of tea only occasionally. Unlike America...there was no sweetener and the cups left you wanting more. It is a very social setting which I found quite calming and enjoyable (ultimately he sold a tea set that he wanted to). Our guide confirmed that the tea was good and wanted to make sure that the tea set was lead free. It was, so now we can enjoy a cup of caffeine free tea with Enyi which is what he is used to. All in all, our nerves and stomachs were settled in the process and we burned up an hour and were a bit closer to getting our son.
