Gotcha and Giggles in Guangzhou

WOW! What an INCREDIBLE day! God is so good! We prayed in the moments before Enyi arrived that Enyi would not be too sad and would willingly come home with us. But we were blown away with how outgoing and smart this kid really is.
OK, so here's how it went down: We were 15 minutes late getting to our appointment due to traffic so my nervous stomach was getting worse. Our guide told us it was not any big deal and when we arrived at Civil Affairs, we realized why...it was like a McDonald's playground in there...kids and families EVERYWHERE...some screaming, some laughing. Our friend Peggy, (aka "the photographer") was just returning from the bathroom when our guide asked us if we were "ready"...when we turned around, there he was! How darling! He came right to me and gave me a hug, then proceeded to hug everyone in our group. We were lead over to sit down and we gave him his backpack full of colors, balloons, bubbles, and FOOD! For such a tiny guy, he can pack away the food! While we were finishing paperwork, he sang at least 3 songs (and took a bow after each)...we have one on video...he has very long fingers (a future piano player or surgeon??) Within 45 minutes we were being led back to the bus...he was already calling us MaMa, BaBa, and Ge Ge. I was waiting and watching to see if he would get car sick (as many of our friends have experienced) but nothing. We came to the hotel room and he was not shy about looking into everything. He really liked the view from our 11th story hotel room and is already repeating English words...BTW, he speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese...and counts to 10 in English?
Later we ventured out to dinner and he ate like a champ, again. Also putting us to shame with his agility with the chop sticks and apparently his first taste of Sprite! Earlier in the day, we had ordered a birthday cake for him and had a little party after dinner...again, ate an HUGE piece of cake. When we returned to the room, we put kids in their swim trunks *his is WAY too big!) and let them go to the pool, not knowing what to expect. He sat right down and took off his shoes and went right it...much to Jay's chagrin. After gulping too much water once, he began to seek "BaBa's" hand on the side of the pool. Lots of laughter erupted between the boys with Enyi wanting to do everything that Campbell does...so cute!
After a bath and putting them in jammies, we have been trying to get them to go to sleep and they cannot stop giggling...music to my ears. This day was over the top better than we ever expected!! Thank you, Lord!
We were also able to get some more details from the orphanage director regarding Enyi's past. Apparently, he was greatly loved by his foster family (who he called uncle and auntie for nearly 3 years). They are the ones who deserve the credit for preparing him for this day and we wish we could thank them in person. It is reported that he had told the children in the neighborhood that he was getting parents from the America and the he would be moving with them soon. He had also told them not to worry and the he would call them...can't wait to get that bill!!
Attached are a a various array of pictures that I hope will be self explanatory.
We wish you could have all been here with us in "the delivery room"...it was awesome!
Tomorrow, we finalize more paperwork and continue the bonding process. All the clothes I brought are WAY to big, so I guess we will be doing a little shopping!

Love to all!
Kim, Jay, Cam, and Enyi

Max started yelling with excitement when he saw the Birthday cake picture and wants to know if Enyi was bringing the cake back with him.
